Top of €3100 Twice at Simmental Tullamore Sale
The Final Simmental Society Pedigree Sale for this season took place at GVM Tullamore on Friday evening April 30th. Again, similar to the March sale a number of bulls were sold out of the catalogue prior to the sale resulting in a smaller number of animals forward for sale.
A top price of €3100 was hit twice with Lot 1 Bridgemount Leo first to set the target. This Lis-Na-Ri Gucci sired bull was exhibited by William O`Riordan, Rathcormac, Co. Cork and was out of a homebred Celtic Rock sire dam Bridgemount Bluebell.
Next selling at €3100 was the youngest bull in the catalogue Littlerock Mo Jo exhibited by Benny McNamara, Murrough, Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare. This April 2020 born bull was sired by Auroch Deuter PP and was also out of a homebred dam Littlerock Delta Queen by Seaview Tommy.
Selling at €3000 was Clonagh Lethal Traction ET for Garrett Behan, Ballyfin, Portlaoise. This December 2019 born bull was sired by Hillcrest Butcher and is out of Clonagh darling Eyes ET, a homebred Banwy T-Rex sired dam.
Hitting the €2600 mark was Ballykin Marvin sold by Denis Maher, Newport, Co. Tipperary. This January 2020 born bull was sired by Bighill Giovanni and was out of a Curaheen Apostle dam Knockane Fling.
Also selling for €2600 was Auroch Maximus selling for the Jacinta Wall, Newcastle, Co. Dublin. Born in March 2020 this bull was sired by Linde General P and was out of a Lamhoj Supery P homebred dam Auroch Danica ET.
There was only one heifer catalogued and she sold for €3000. Dream Lucky Lucy was exhibited by Tommy Butler, Coolfin, Banagher, Co. Offaly and this Curaheen Gunshot P sired heifer was out of an Omorga Regan dam Auroch Bakula and was in-calf to Lisnacrann Fifty Cents.
In summary, there was a 65% clearance with an average price of €2410.
