Taking the Overall Simmental Championship at Balmoral in glorious sunshine was the sixteen-month-old heifer Tawley Gretta, shown by first-time Balmoral exhibitor Kieran Mullarkey who had made the trip from Ballinfull in County Sligo.
Bred by Irish breeder Declan Oates, she was purchased privately in 2015 by Kieran Mullarkey for his Lissadell Herd which was established in 2014. Sired by Monaduff Snorter and bred from Annadale Dainty an Auchorachan Wizard dam, this much admired heifer was second in her class at Tullamore Show last year, and was also Connaught Calf Champion at Ballinrobe Show in 2015.
