Irish Simmental Society Virtual Suckler Competition

The Irish Simmental Cattle Society has just announced the details of a New Virtual Suckler Competition.

Commenting on the competition, Society General Manager Peadar Glennon highlighted that this new initiative will give Suckler farmers the opportunity to display their cattle and compete for an attractive prize fund.

He confirmed that the competition will be judged by three commercial judges and would be based on animal quality only with evaluations playing no part in any decisions.

He also stressed that this competition would allow the opportunity to display all that is positive with regard to suckler farming.

Finally, Peadar confirmed that once entries are received that they will feature on social media and no judging will take place until all entries are featured.

Section 1

Open to exhibitors with Simmental Stockbull progeny or Simmental A.I. sired progeny.

Section 2

Open to exhibitors with Simmental sired In-Calf Heifers / Maiden Heifers

Competition Rules

Competition opens from August 14^th and will close on September 15^th

Images of commercial animals only can be entered.

A maximum of 15 images per entry

No Professional Images

Exhibitor can enter both sections but can only be a winner in one section.

Images deemed of insufficient quality by the Competition committee will not be featured and the Exhibitor will be asked to resubmit new images.

Exhibitor gives permission for his images and details to appear on social media.

Judges decision will be final.

Entry Procedure

Exhibitor just emails images and details of their suckler system / In-calf or maiden heifer enterprise to the Irish Simmental Cattle Society at info@irishsimmental.com
Images to include pictures of progeny / stockbull if one / heifers. Details of stockbull or A.I. bulls used.
Exhibitor must provide name and address.
