The 25th National Simmental Show took place on Sunday 12th of August at the National Livestock Show, Tullamore. Judge for the day was Mrs. Vikki Wood of the much acclaimed Popes herd based in Preston, Lancashire. Leading the way on the day was last years overall champion “Clonagh Darling Eyes” from Garrett Behan, Clonygowan, Ballyfin, Co. Laois. This six year old cow is by Banwy T-Rex out of Milton Senhorita. Taking the reserve overall championship and reserve female was the Junior heifer “Tisaran Her Majesty” from Martin Mooney, Shannonharbour, Birr, Co. Offaly. She is by Curaheen Wakeman out of Fearna Faith. The male section was won by the Senior bull, “Bruchag Glenfiddich” from Garrett Behan, Clonygowan, Ballyfin, Co. Laois. He is by Teviot Challenger out of Bruchag Alana. Reserve male champion went to the National Yearling bull champion, “Mount Jericho” from Joe Kelly, Ballynacally, Ennis, Co. Clare. He is by Clonagh Direct Debit out of Curaheen Geraldine P.
